Our word for our family this year is promise. Not my promise or Amber's promise but God's promise. A few days after we had talked about looking forward to God's promises for this year I heard a message called 'Count on It' by Steven Furtick. He preached from Haggai 2 and one verse has been in my mind ever since and I have to share it with you. Haggai 2:19 I am giving you a promise now while the seed is still in the barn. You have not yet harvested your grain, and your grapevines, fig trees, pomegranates, and olive trees have not yet produced their crops. But from this day onward I will bless you. (NLT)
I just love the picture of receiving the promise and trusting in the promise before we see any proof of it. While there are a lot of things in our life that are still in seed form (selling our house, raising support, ministry in Croatia, etc). We can count on the promise of God even while the seed is still in the barn.
You can count on the promises of God.
